Bridge to Cloud 3 Promotion Lets Dynamics GP Users Move to Business Central Without Paying More Than They Do Today
Earlier this year, an accounts payable manager at a Texas-based company reached out to Dexpro with a straightforward question. His organization had been planning to move from Dynamics GP to Business Central and had been comparing implementation partners. He wanted to understand one specific thing before going further: how does Microsoft's Bridge to Cloud promotion affect what they would actually pay, and would their current Enhancement Plan costs factor into it?
It is a question we hear often. And the answer, once you understand how the promotion works, tends to surprise people in a good way.
The Promotion That Changes the Math
Microsoft's Bridge to Cloud 3 (BTC3) is an active promotion running through December 31, 2027. It is designed for companies still running on-premises Dynamics systems, including GP and NAV, and it offers a 30% discount on Business Central Online licenses locked in for three full years through the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program.
That discount is meaningful on its own. But the more interesting part for GP users is how Microsoft structured the eligibility requirement.
To qualify, the annualized value of your new Business Central cloud licenses must equal or exceed what you are currently paying for your Enhancement Plan (EP) renewal. At first glance, that sounds like a floor that could push costs up. In practice, for many GP users, it means their monthly investment in Business Central ends up being very close to what they are already paying to maintain GP. The renewal cost they are used to essentially becomes the benchmark for the cloud subscription, and the 30% discount is applied on top of the new pricing.
For the Texas company that reached out to us, this reframing changed the conversation entirely. The move to Business Central was no longer a step up in cost. It was a transition at a familiar price point, with a modern cloud platform on the other side of it.
To qualify for BTC3, your organization must have purchased on-premises Dynamics licenses before September 1, 2024 and hold an active Enhancement Plan. Companies that participated in a prior Bridge to Cloud promotion are generally not eligible for this iteration.
What the Promotion Actually Includes
Beyond the discount, BTC3 comes with a few practical benefits worth knowing about.
Dual access rights mean you can keep using and upgrading your on-premises GP system while the Business Central environment is being built and tested. There is no hard cutover date forcing your team off a system they depend on before the new one is ready. You move workloads at a pace that makes sense for your business.
The three-year promotional term also brings price stability. Once you enroll, the discounted rate is locked in. You are not exposed to price adjustments during that period, which makes budgeting straightforward.
At Dexpro, we do not mark up Microsoft renewals. If we become your partner on record, we can show you the bill from Microsoft directly. We bill license costs on an annual basis, which keeps things predictable even within the three-year commitment.
The Question That Matters More Than the Discount
Licensing costs are worth comparing. But they are almost never where Business Central implementations go sideways.
The more consequential decision is which team will actually design and build your system. Business Central is a flexible platform, and the configuration decisions made early in the project shape everything that follows, including how your team uses it daily, how well it handles your specific processes, and how expensive changes become down the road.
At larger Microsoft partners, the typical model looks like this: a sales team scopes the project, a solution architect revises the scope, and junior implementers execute the plan. Problems surface at the handoffs. When the initial scope misses something important, the architect has to redesign mid-project. When implementers are not experienced enough to raise questions during the build, small gaps compound quietly. By go-live, you have a system shaped by decisions made by people who are no longer involved, and a support team that needs time to reconstruct the reasoning behind every configuration choice.
Smaller partners carry a different risk. A firm that depends heavily on one or two individuals creates a knowledge concentration problem that you may not notice until something goes wrong.
Dexpro is sized to avoid both failure modes. From the initial sales conversation through design, implementation, and post-go-live support, you work with the same team. Every implementation includes at least two solution architects reviewing the system design, because a second perspective catches what a single one misses. We do not hand projects off. We do not rebuild systems after go-live because the original design did not hold up. Our goal is that your Business Central environment fits how your business actually operates from day one, and continues to grow with you after the project closes.

Is Now the Right Time to Move from Dynamics GP to Business Central?
For most GP users, the window to act affordably is open right now and will not stay open indefinitely. Business Central pricing increased in November 2025. BTC3 softens that increase significantly, but enrollment closes December 31, 2027. After the promotional term ends, standard pricing applies.
Dynamics GP is also approaching end-of-mainstream support in 2028, with extended support running through 2029. Staying on GP is not a neutral choice. It means falling further behind on the product innovation, AI capabilities, and security investments that Microsoft is concentrating on the cloud platform.
